The AAF Silver Medal Award, first granted locally in 1962, is part of the American Advertising Federation's NATIONAL Silver Medal program.

The award recognizes men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern.

AAF-Houston is pleased to honor Allen Brivic, President of Brivic Media, Inc. with Houston's 2019 AAF Silver Medal Award.

Allen Brivic, is a nationally recognized media expert with over 45 years of experience. He has handled the full range of media assignments from such national accounts as JCPenney, Pepsi, Continental Airlines and The U.S. Army, down to local pro bono, and everything in between.

Allen’s creativity in media has been recognized by several awards including MediaWeek national award for Best Radio Plan, Media Magazine Creative Media Award national finalist for television, as well as numerous Gold ADDY’s from the Houston Advertising Federation. In 2006 he was honored by the local AWRT chapter for his lifetime achievements within the advertising industry.

Throughout his career, he has been extremely active in volunteering his time to enhance the media industry. He is the author of the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ handbook What Every Account Executive Should Know About Media, as well as several articles in such national publications as Media & Marketing Decisions, Inside Print, TV & Radio Age and SRDS Reports.

Allen is also an active speaker at universities and industry functions. Allen has served on the advisory boards of the Traffic Audit Bureau (TAB) and AWRT. He also served as a board member of the Houston Advertising Federation and on the 4A’s Magazine Buyer’s Advisory Committee. Through Allen’s career he has worked at top national agencies including BBDO, Wells, Rich, Greene, Bozell and N.W. Ayer.

Brivic relocated to Houston in 1987 and began his Texas homesteading. In 1992, Allen formed Taylor-Brivic, a $36 million media subsidiary of the Taylor-Smith Group. The company serviced such accounts as Conoco, Kroger, HL&P and Bank United. In January 1997, Allen’s entrepreneurial spirit got the best of him as he founded his own company, BrivicMedia, Inc., which, by the way, is the only six-time winner of the coveted Media Alliance of Houston Advertising Agency of the Year.
