Today, Houston is more diverse than ever before. The fact of the matter is that we are a melting pot of cultures, and our collective sense of inclusion is the path forward.
In this spirit, AAF-Houston held its first-ever Night of Diversity + Inclusion on March 6, 2019, recognizing three deserving Houstonians for who are prime examples of how embracing the city’s uniqueness can truly move the needle. Along with outstanding professional success, the honorees are active in their respective communities. Their swiftness to social responsibilities does not go unnoticed as their voices are heard clearly, with messages that resonate. This group of Houstonians are advocates of equality, in each and every sense.
AAF-Houston was proud to recognize:
Mary Benton
Press Secretary for Mayor Sylvester Turner
Chris David Garcia
Creative Director, Houston Astros
Jacob Sudhoff
CEO & Founder, Sudhoff Companies
Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Night of Diversity + Inclusion will have to be rescheduled, but AAF-Houston remains committed to the annual event as a platform to elevate multiculturalism through education, professional development and employment opportunities.

Regardless of what our country’s political landscape may look like, the city of Houston remains unified. In good times and in bad, Houstonians band together. Along with diversity and inclusion, our event was created to highlight our city’s strength in unity, and our undeniable resilience.
