The American Advertising Federation-Houston will honor Paul W. Hobby, CEO of Texas Monthly Magazine, with its AAF-Houston Trailblazer Award on Thursday, November 8, 2018, 6 PM, at The Junior League of Houston.

Paul Hobby is the Chief Executive Officer for Texas Monthly.
He is also the Managing Partner of Genesis Park, L.P. Since late 1999, Genesis Park has executed a number of successful communications and technology transactions.
Prior to Genesis Park, Mr. Hobby conceived a technology strategy for integrating media operations through improved information technology. That company, Columbine JDS Systems, Inc., became the dominant provider of back office media software for cable and broadcast clients globally.
He later served at Chairman of CapRock Communications, which provided secure and non-encrypted satellite services to government, military and energy markets around the world. He also served at CEO of Alpheus Communications for seven years – perfecting a Texas fiber network and building data centers in major Texas markets.
Paul has served on a number of the board of leading public and private companies including: NRG Energy, Eagle Global Logistics, Inc., Stewart Title, Coastal Banc, Amegy Bank of Texas, Aronex Pharmaceuticals, and Texas Genco.
Paul is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he has been honored by the Raven Society and the University of Texas School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member and been honored as an Outstanding Young Alumnus. He has been a guest lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and the Jones School of Business at Rice University.
He is former Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership, the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Texas Ethics Commission, the Texas General Services Commission, and The Texas Business Hall of Fame. Mr. Hobby has held a variety of other community leadership positions over time.
Trailblazer Award Gala
Festivities will begin with a cocktail reception and silent and art auctions, followed by a seated dinner and the special Trailblazer Award presentation.
Proceeds from the Trailblazer Gala help support the marketing and advertising education of the area's high school and college students via grants and scholarships for the underprivileged, in hopes of continuing to build a lasting positive impact on our business community.
